Customs announcements and takeover threats from US President Trump are incomprehensible in Canada and have triggered a wave of patriotism. Stars from music are now positioning.
After severe trade disputes with the USA and takeover threats by US President Donald Trump, some Canadian celebrities have now positioned themselves. “We are the greatest nation on Earth – and we are not for sale,” said Canadian singer Michael Bublé, according to media reports, said at this year’s Canadian music prices of Juno Awards. The rapper BBNO $ described Trump consultant and tech billionaire Elon Musk on stage as “a piece of garbage”-and received great applause for this.
Wave of patriotism in Canada after Trump threats
The 79-year-old singer Anne Murray said that she always refused to move to the United States throughout her career, even though she had also celebrated success on the significantly larger market there. “I instinctively knew that I needed a place to withdraw when my work is done. Canada was my safe harbor, my calming ceiling, my light at the end of the tunnel. And that’s still it.” Murray wore a Canadian ice hockey jersey on stage.
The takeover threats and customs announcements by US President Trump have triggered incomprehension, rejection and anger in Canada – previously a close partner of the USA – and led to a new wave of patriotism. The new prime minister Mark Carney has already committed his country to realign relationships with the United States.
