It is one of the most important items in the ARD. There is only one candidate for the chief post at the NDR. Nevertheless, the question arises: How will the choice end?
A change at the top is at the top of the North German Radio (NDR). In a choice from 11.45 a.m., the transmitter inspector decide whether the media manager Sandra Harzer-Kux will be director of the ARD station. The long-time Bertelsmann manager is the only candidate. The Board of Directors of the public broadcaster had proposed the external manager.
Harzer-Kux (52) would follow director Joachim Knuth. The 65-year-old had offered an early transition to September 1st. Knuth has been the director of the third largest ARD station since January 2020. His contract runs regularly until mid -January 2026.
According to committees, there is only one ballot. If there is not enough voices for Harzer-Kux, the Board of Directors can submit a new personnel proposal within a month.
What are the construction sites at the NDR?
If Harzer-Kux becomes an director, it will first be about gaining trust. The external media manager would have to do, save, save, save, save, save: The dispute with the federal states for the amount of the broadcasting contribution also affects the NDR with around 5,000 festivals and freelance employees within both the NDR and ARD network. In 2023, around 1.1 billion euros in income from the broadcasting fee came together to finance the broadcaster. Economic plans have to be set up in uncertain times – without knowing how the broadcasting contribution will develop. A decision by the Federal Constitutional Court is pending. Not unimportant: Because of his large broadcast area, the broadcaster must keep in touch with several state governments in the north to fight there for the interests of the radio. There were personnel changes. The broadcaster had external Kaleidoscope created what the mood is in the NDR and wants to re -enact.
