Ex-moderator Russell Brand charged with rape
After long investigations, the British actor and ex-moderator Russell Brand is charged, among other things, for suspected rape. Fire speaks in a video.
The British actor and ex-moderator Russell Brand has been charged with suspicion of rape, harassment and coercion. The 49-year-old will be accused of four acts from 1999 to 2005. Four women are affected, as the police said. They would be “supervised specially trained officials”.
Brand reacted to the allegations in a video that he published on Instagram and X. He never participated in “non-interlocated” activities, said Brand. He now had the opportunity to defend himself against the indictment in court and was grateful for it.
The allegations against fire, which used to be married to pop singer Katy Perry (40), were made in 2023. The police had started the investigation in the course of media reports. The law enforcement authority now authorized the indictment.

At the end of January, the BBC had apologized to the ex-radio presenter with a view to allegations. An internal examination in his BBC period between 2006 and 2008 had shown that several employees did not dare to report alleged misconduct Brands.
