Ex-finance minister Christian Lindner and his wife, the journalist Franca Lehfeldt, have become parents for the first time, according to the “Bild” newspaper. The 35-year-old gave birth to a girl in Berlin last Sunday, the sheet writes. Lehfeldt’s pregnancy became public in November 2024. Lindner then caused a controversy when he publicly declared that he did not want to take any parental leave. “This is not intended in my job,” he told the magazine “Bunte”. With his wife, however, he wanted to “set up on an equal footing as a family”. After his end as finance minister and resignation as a FDP chairman, the 46-year-old should now have more time for childcare. Lindner and Lehfeldt have been a couple since 2018 and had made headlines four years later with their wedding on the celebrity island of Sylt
