The influencer suddenly no longer came into her account, she says. She had to see how a hacker offered her account for sale. She has advice for her followers.
Nightmare scenario for influencers: Cathy Hummels has claimed to be the victim of an extortionate hacker attack. “I was chopped and I had no access to my own Instagram account 24 hours,” reports the 37-year-old in an Instagram video published on Saturday morning. The hacker had access to her feed and private messages. “He was the gentleman over my account.”
“He blackmailed me, wanted at least 4,000 euros, and if I didn’t pay it immediately, he would sell my account,” says Hummels her followers. “People, and not only that: he also publicly wrote in my organic that my account, my Cathy Hummels account, is for sale.” It’s for sale “, said.”
“I tell you one: a lot of shit happens to me”
“I tell you one thing: a lot of shit happens to me and my life never gets boring,” said the 37-year-old. “But that was really the top of the iceberg. I was afraid.” After all, it was possible to get the account back with meta support. “I think you can see it: I’m redeemed.”
Then Hummels divides another advice with their followers: “Pay attention to your passwords, write them down, do not save them on the cell phone, lead a list, definitely turns on the two-factor authentication. And very, very important: never answer dubious emails or click any strange links.”
