Actress Karin Lesch died. She played the queen in the cult fairy film “Three Hazelnuts for Cinderella”.
Actress Karin Lesch (1935-2025) is dead. She was 89 years old. the artist born in Switzerland died on March 12 in a retirement home in the city of Königs Wusterhausen, Brandenburg. Lesch’s husband, the director and later DEFA general director Hans Dieter Mäde, died in 2009, the son, the dramaturge and writer Michael Mäde, in 2023.

Lesch, who came from a family of actors, was known for her role of the friendly queen and kind mother of the impetuous ash broken prince, played by Pavel Trávníček, in the Christmas cult fair film “Three hazelnuts for Cinderella” from 1973.
The 74-year-old Pavel Trávníček to the death of Karin Lesch and explained: “I read the sad news this morning, and it hurt my heart.”
He also told, actor Rolf Hoppe (1930–2018), who played the king, the actress personally selected as his film partner. According to Trávníček, the Thuringian said to director Václav Vorlíček (1930–2019): “‘I play the king, but I choose my partner myself.’ – And I think it worked well … it was really nice and elegant.
Pavel Trávníček is the only one of the four cult stars who still lives. The Czech actress Libuše Šafránková (1953–2021), who embodied the title figure, died in June 2021 two days after her 68th birthday of the consequences of cancer in a Prague hospital.
Karin Lesch was still seen in the two-part “Maria and the Paragraph” as well as in “Die Ghiertfalle” in the first broadcast of the fairytale film.
