Pure skin using glim skin – can that work?
The Glim Skin founders have developed a tool that is supposed to provide cleaner skin using plasma. They present their glim90 at DHDL. The star tested it.
It sounds child’s play: you just have to drive over your face for 90 seconds with the small electric cosmetics device and the skin plagued by impurities should become pure. This should work with the Glim Skin beauty tool. With the help of cold plasma, the so -called glim90 should counteract inflamed skin. The two founders present their product in the VOX founder show “The Lion’s Den”. The star tested it in advance.
Glim Skin from DHDL: The idea
For the introduction: Glim Skin was in 2023 by electrical engineer Dr. Friederike Kogelheide founded in Bochum. She was looking for a sustainable and innovative solution for skin care that works easily and quickly. In a treatment length of 90 seconds a day, the electrical cosmetics device GLIM90 is intended to activate the self-healing powers of (facial) skin and strengthen the skin barrier from the inside-with the help of cold plasma. The metabolism is activated by putting the body’s own messenger substances onto the skin, which is intended to inhibit both the inflammation and promote blood circulation, which stimulates cell renewal. And without additives or chemicals.
Together with Benita Botterhuis, the founder competes at “The Lion’s Den” to present her product GLIM90. The device costs 259 euros.
Note: Dermatologist Prof. Dr. med. Stefanie Reich-Schupke explains that the effect of cold plasma has been proven. In the event of open wounds, however, you should do without the use, as well as with pregnancy. Glim Skin’s founders also point out that the device should not be used under water or on damp skin and that it is only intended for external use.

The first impression
The product makes a good impression when unpacking: it does not come in more packaging than necessary. Plastic films and Co. are dispensed with. Special plus point: there is hardly any accessories or so much content that you are already overwhelmed. On the contrary: the whole thing is completely self -explanatory. The device is almost ready to use, charging cable, two replacement hygiene caps and instructions-there is nothing more. The short guide makes it clear that it is really as easy as it seems. All you need to do is load the device completely, put on the cap, clean the skin and drive the device over the desired facial areas in a circular movements for 90 seconds.
The handling
In fact, the application shows that this works without any problems: the device gives the desired sound of itself, which signals that it works. It is by no means uncomfortable or cold and can be used without effort. It is very light in the hand and made of plastic: whether it would override a fall on the tile floor is questionable. During the use, it is a light, unusual smell: the cold plasma. After use, the skin looks refreshed and feels soft and good.
After a few times of use, it shows that slight impurities have disappeared, as well as redness. The skin looks even and smooth. However, the tester rarely has to deal with great impurities and no acne. With small pimples and inflammation, GLIM90 works great. The test has not been able to clarify whether it can cause visible improvements in persistent acne. The tendency is there.
The cleaning is just as simple as the handling: only the hygiene cap should be rinsed off with warm water. If necessary, the surface can also be wiped off with a damp cloth. The hygiene accessories should be replaced after a few weeks.
The conclusion
Glim Skin’s beauty tool can be used much more easily than other comparable electrical cosmetic devices, such as an LED mask against acne. The latter should be used several times a week for at least ten minutes. Such tools also ensure visible improvements, but can be even more expensive to buy. However, there are usually no follow -up costs there. And: LED masks made of silicone survive a fall on the tile floor unscathed.
GLIM90 works very easily, quickly and easily and can be easily integrated into everyday life. Plus: Side effects or irritation are not known. So if you have been struggling with impurities and has not yet found a helpful remedy, the Glim Skin tool can be well advised. The purchase price is fair, because the device can be used for a long time, especially since professional treatments are more expensive. However, it is not entirely a one -time investment: the hygiene caps should be renewed after a few weeks.
Dr. Friederike Kogelheide and co -founder Benita Botterhuis would like an investment amount of 300,000 euros for ten percent of the company shares. Before that, however, you have to survive the critical questions of the lions.
