Michael Bully Herbig celebrates his 57th birthday on April 29 – however, he made the greatest gift on the occasion of his fans.
Michael Bully Herbig (57) uses his birthday on April 29 to stir the advertising drum for “the canoe of the Manitu”. He gave his curious fans a great gift. The posting collected more than 18,000 likes within two hours.
“I’ll put on with you!”
The actor, director and producer had already announced the day before that there would be “what” on Tuesday. In the hashtags, he referred to the film title and a surprise, whereupon Follower suspected a second trailer. On his 57th birthday, Herbig then left the cat out of the sack. He wrote on: “Great joy! Thank you very much for the dear birthday greetings! I also have something for you: the highly official film poster for ‘The Cane des Manitu'”. He further emphasized: “I’ll put on with you!”
The first trailer came shortly before Christmas
The continuation of the Western Persiflage “The Schuh des Manitu” from 2001 will come to cinemas on August 14, 2025. Herbig fueled the anticipation months before. He has already released the first trailer before the film poster. In December, shortly before Christmas, he also posted the clip via Instagram.
“In the near west,” it says at the beginning – an allusion to “Once Upon a Time in the West”, the English title of the western classic “play the song from death”. A seer then promises “the greatest adventure of all time”. However, the trailer does not reveal what this consists. So far, the plot is only roughly known: Ranger (Christian Tramitz) and Abahachi (Herbig) are delivered to the gallows by gangsters who want to get the legendary canoe of the Manitu. But they are saved by Dimitri (Rick Kavanian).
The three are of course also shown on the film poster. Abahachi and Ranger look at the camera in the middle, while Dimitri spreads out the arms in a good mood on the edge.
There is also a reunion in the second part with Abahachi’s twin brother Winnetouch (also Herbig). The figure was briefly seen in the trailer and was shown small on the film poster. Jessica Schwarz, Friedrich Mücke and Jasmin Schwiers are new figures.
The first part broke records
With over 11.7 million visitors, the first film from 2001 is one of the most successful German films ever. The Wild-West parody “The Shoe des Manitu” broke not only all records at the box office, it has also been awarded several times-for example with the German Film Award in the category “Visitor Film of the Year”.
