TV price gala runs on ZDF this time
The lead at the show run of the German TV stars has MagentaTV in its hands for the first time this year – but the show is designed by ZDF. Cooperation makes it possible.
This year the ZDF will be broadcast the TV gala for the German television award. The show from Cologne is scheduled to be seen on September 10th at 8:15 p.m., as the organizers announced.
The interesting thing about it: the lead and overall responsibility for the event is for the first time this year with MagentaTV. Telekom’s offer combines classic linear television with streaming services and exclusive content on its platform. When implementing the television award, the provider now works with the ZDF.
The leadership for the German television award changes year after year. The ARD had broadcast the TV price gala last year. The ZDF had last shown them in 2022. The award is carried out by ARD, RTL, Sat.1, ZDF and Deutsche Telekom. The streaming providers Disney+, Netflix and Prime Video appear as partners.
Anyone who gets the price decides a jury of experts. This year is part of her moderator Laura Karasek, journalist Stephan Lamby as well as the actresses Collien Ulmen-Fernandes and Valerie Niehaus.
As in previous years, the makers stick to the concept of distributing the award ceremony with their numerous categories over two evenings and thus equalizing. One day before the big TV gala there should be another “Night of Creative”, also in Cologne. In the past, heads from the TV industry were honored in the festive but somewhat smaller frame, which mostly work behind the camera.
