Thomas Müller: Farewell to emotional video

“Yes, tomorrow the time has come …”: With these words, Thomas Müller (35) heralds his last appearance in the local Allianz Arena in an emotional video. The large icon of FC Bayern Munich will appear for the very last time in a Bundesliga home game on Saturday, May 10th. At 6:30 p.m. it goes against Borussia Mönchengladbach. The approximately three-minute video starts with a drone cross-country flight over the enlightened stadium in Munich and outlines some moving scenes of his career in the Bavaria jersey.

“I’m looking forward to it,” explains Müller about the emotional pictures, but it is also a “very strange feeling”. His career is “unbelievable”: “Title, goals, unique moments: that is what will be stuck in the end. I’m already happy about it.” Thanks to FC Bayern Munich, he enjoyed the “big wide world”. It was always particularly important to him what football does with people: “If you then look into the radiant faces – that does something with you. I will miss it. It was nice,” explains Müller.

Thomas Müller switched to the youth of FC Bayern Munich in 2000 and made his debut with the professionals in 2008. Overall, he has been running more than 500 times for the record champion in the Bundesliga alone and scored 150 goals there. A few weeks ago, the association and Müller announced that its expiring contract would no longer be extended. It is believed that Müller will end his career at a club abroad. Between 2010 and 2024, Müller played 131 times for the DFB team and became world champion in Brazil in 2014. With his Bavaria he won 13 championships, six times the DFB Cup and twice the UEFA Champions League.
