Designer Harald Glööckler became the brand primarily through his appearance. His motto remains on the 60th birthday: “After the operation is before the operation”.

Harald Glööckler would accept a lot for the eternal youth. “I would like to live forever. If it would be vampires, I would let myself bite to stay beautiful and eternal,” he said on his 50th birthday. “Ten years later, the eccentric designer still works on the formula for the fountain of jungle and is not afraid or a scalpel. On his 60th birthday on May 30, everything is still striking, shrill – exactly as he loves it.” Everything, except boring “is his credo.

Glone was not programmed

Harald Glöckler was born under far less glamorous circumstances. He grew up in the small Maulbronn-Zaisersweiher in Baden-Württemberg, where his parents led a restaurant. The young Harald, on the other hand, raved early for fashion, inspired by his aunt, a seamstress. At the age of just seven, he designed his first dress for her, when the love for opulence was born: a black lace dress with a gold -colored feed.

But his childhood was overshadowed by a tragedy. His father was an alcoholic and violent. His mother died of the stairs after a fall when he was 14. “There was blood everywhere. Ironing,” Glööckler recalls in his autobiography of the same name. At that time he got towels and called the doctor. He blamed his father’s fault and spoke no word with him until his death in 1992. It is these early experiences that reinforced the desire to create their own glittering world.

Glööckler is reinvented by pompöös

In 1987 he opened his first shop with his own designs in Stuttgart in a fashion department store after his apprenticeship as a retail salesman. Three years later, he founded the label “pompöös” and was baptized: Glöckler became Glööckler. The double-Ö, the black beard, the colorful make-up, the rhinestone-everywhere street! -, the crown – all part of his self -designed art figure. Glööckler finally announced the sale of its products through teleshopping from 2004 throughout Germany. His message is “every woman is a princess”, it only takes enough glitter. Today there is almost nothing that he would not have yet given his name. Fashion, jewelry, wallpaper, lamps, suitcases, dog bitches, napkins.

The television quickly discovered the entertainment value of the dazzling designer. In 2010 and 2011 he was a jury member in the RTL dance program “Let’s Dance”. This was followed by their own documentaries such as “Mr. Glööckler moves” or “Glööckler, shine and gloria”. In 2022 he was also seen in the jungle camp.

“After the operation is before the operation”

“I am always associated with beauty surgeries. Don’t even know why,” he joked there. The truth is: Harald Glööckler has created a living work of art from himself. “After sports is before sports and after the operation is before the operation,” he explains his philosophy to Spot on News. “But you must not imagine that there is an operating plan, but rather that something is done when it is necessary.”

He has been injected regularly for 30 years. “I skilfully hit the aging so far, so that’s okay for me,” he says of the expression “in dignity aging” he holds little: “Either you aged with dignity or not, but whether you can be lifted or not is completely uninteresting.”

The end of a great love

Those who always stood to him through all physical changes was his great love. Harald Glööckler met Dieter Schroth (76) at the age of 21. They have been a couple for 35 years, and have also been married since 2015. Schroth, double father and divorced, accompanied him at every step of his career and worked for years as his manager. But in 2022 the surprising separation followed. “I didn’t want to live anymore,” said Glööckler about the end of his marriage. He narrowed and felt “emotionally burned out”. “City can also alienate.”

The truth is: “I’ve been unhappy in my relationship for the past ten years. So unhappy that I got depression.” Today he lives alone in Berlin and wants to enjoy his freedom. In “Mr. Glööckler is looking for happiness” he was promptly accompanied by RTLZWEI with this new life – however, the show was discontinued.

No nostalgia for the 60th birthday

Harald Glööckler has been experiencing a popularity boost recently. As a juror of the styling program “My Style Rocks”, he is currently the viral hit at Tiktok. His legendary freak – including the cup throw – are becoming memes, his angry “man!” to the winged word.

Glööckler is still planning to approach his 60th birthday. “I still have no concrete plans for my milestone birthday, but my management and my friends are probably. I don’t have it so important with celebrating,” he reveals to the tabloid. How does he think about the 60? “You don’t have to think about it, you have to get along with it. It’s just like that, that’s part of the deal.”

If he had to give his younger advice, it would be, in the spirit of eternal youth, only one: “To do everything again. To make all the mistakes again. Only a little earlier so that you have more of it.”
