In 2020 I was still quite confident that this time would be better than other global health crises before this pandemic. There have already been donor conferences for vaccines to go to developing countries at a time when there was no vaccine and it was not yet certain that an effective vaccine could be developed. I remember well that I thought back then: man, everything is already being considered now. Also, there were good and important initiatives like Covax that bought vaccines to give to developing countries.
