A woman in her mid-twenties suddenly gains weight, her hair changes and her cycle is irregular. She soon comes across the correct diagnosis herself.
Recorded by Christiane Löffler
A few years ago, her body began to change, the woman in her mid-twenties told me during the consultation. She had steadily gained weight and now weighed eight kilos more than before. At times she often felt weak. Her upper lip had grown down, her genital hair had become thicker, and she only had her periods every few months. She went to the family doctor who did a pregnancy test – it was negative. The gynecologist had prescribed a pill to regulate her cycle. The woman began researching online and, after entering her symptoms, came across the diagnosis “Polycystic Ovary Syndrome” (PCOS).
