Giving birth can permanently boost your self-confidence and self-esteem. But it is estimated that every eighth to tenth woman has a negative experience during childbirth. Some clinics have recognized the problem and are actively preventing it.
“I felt left alone when I was threatened with a premature birth.”
“I was given a medication that I didn’t want.”
“I was talked into getting an epidural.”
Studies estimate that ten to twelve percent of women experience the birth of their child as traumatic. At just under 750,000 births This affects around 75,000 women every year. It often takes years before they can process their experiences of physical or verbal violence. The consequences are sometimes serious.
