“My brain needs a lot of stimuli”: the diagnosis of ADHD
Copy the current link
Our author has ADHD. Since knowing this, a lot of things have changed for the better in her. Even in the bedroom. What helped her.
This diagnosis gave me very mixed feelings. In May I found out I had ADHD. “Now you finally know,” my husband said happily. But I was really sad. And angry. All the decades of thinking there was something wrong with me. I could have saved myself so much. For weeks I fluctuated between sadness, anger and great relief.
ADHD in women is still subject to a gender bias. Because female ADHD often doesn’t show itself as a fidget. My hyperactivity manifests itself differently. I have at least five trains of thought in parallel and 200 open tabs in my head. Always. Even at night. Even on vacation.
