For Silvera Schmider, a test brought clarity
Silvera Schmider noticed in kindergarten that she was different. As an adult, she discovered her giftedness. She realized why she used to do poorly in school.
I noticed in kindergarten that I was different from others. I took many things more seriously than others. I could never understand how people couldn’t follow the rules. Why someone lies. Justice was important to me. And all of this made me a bit lonely. I grew up on a farm, a dairy farm, with three much older brothers. There was only one other girl in my year in the village. I tended to go out with my brothers and later went to discos with them. I always wanted to be one of the older people because I got along better with them. My classmates had little to do with me – and I had little to do with them.
