Lukas Klaschinski: We humans are relationship animals. Our longing for loyalty in partnerships is not least the desire for a deep, safe bond. All the more hurtful when this relationship of trust is broken when the partner cheats. In terms of side jumps, I observe a very interesting ambivalence: almost all people, 97 percent, expect loyalty from your partner. But at the same time, almost a third of all people have cheated in a relationship, according to some assumptions there are even two thirds.

Stefanie Stahl: In fact, the topic of fraud is one that very busy many people and many couples. In a large study by the University of Göttingen, 25 percent of those surveyed stated that they had problems in the “loyalty” area in their current partnerships. And they were one of the most serious problems. In my practice, too, I often had to do with the topic. Hardly anything affects a relationship than the meteorite infidelity. Some couples made it through this crisis, others have broken.

Lukas Klaschinski: In your experience, what are the reasons for an affair or even a longer affair?
