Tim Wohlberedt helps people to achieve their desired weight. If you want to lose weight, a different cutlery sometimes helps in everyday life.
This interview comes from the Stern Archive and first appeared in January 2024.
Mr. Wohlberedt, do you get faster in old age?
The basic metabolism – the energy that the body consumes even in complete calm – is the highest in young adults and then gradually decreases. If we eat as much as at a young age, it can happen that we increase. We can prevent this by adapting our diet a little or boosting our calorie consumption through more movement. But that is often not so easy at an advanced age: we may not be physically so resilient. Therefore, it can be more difficult to take off actively in a more advanced age. What I then convey to my patients: Sometimes it is a success when they keep their weight.
