The Linz start-up Afreshed was able to convince all five investors with one of the top presentations on the TV show “2Minuten2Millionen”. Their company concept: saving food from spoilage or the biogas plant. Her remedy: the rescue boxes, filled with fruit and vegetables that are “not pretty enough” for the trade.
For this, Afreshed works with companies that have such a “waste” of food. This is finally packed in boxes and sent to the customers. As reported, the three founders have already saved more than 78 tons of fruit and vegetables in this way. The investors were impressed by the business idea, but there were still one or two critical questions. Nevertheless, there were ultimately five offers plus a sustainability ticket from Martin Rohla worth 20,000 euros. The deal for Afreshed: 250,000 euros.
The young entrepreneurs now want to further develop Afreshed and offer new concepts for a zero waste lifestyle. No details have been revealed yet.
