Holiday tips for young and old

Holiday tips for young and old

If you want to be active, we recommend a round of ice skating in the region’s ice rinks, some of which have extended their opening times. If the weather doesn’t go completely crazy, a trip into nature during the semester break is certainly worthwhile, whether on a skateboard, scooter or bike.

The first young animals of this year have seen the light of day in the zoos. The zoo in Wels is happy about the offspring in the monkey house and the Schmiding zoo in Krenglbach about the giraffe baby Nuka, who was born on January 23. During the semester break, visitors to Schmiding Zoo receive first-hand information from the animal keepers. Chameleons and lorises are fed with the visitors, the tapirs are groomed and showered in front of the visitors, you can take a look at the stables and much more.

If you want to immerse yourself in the world of science and technology, the Welios in Wels is the right place for you. Science shows on the topics of nitrogen and fire are on the program every day.

An experience for the whole family is solving puzzles in the so-called escape rooms, where you are “locked in”. There, the participants have to solve various tricky tasks together in a race against time. There are providers for this in Wels and Linz, for example.
