Injured cat rescued from concrete pipe

The Pfotenhilfe Lochen team rescued the patient, who is now being cared for in the infirmary of the animal shelter. He suffered a severe traumatic brain injury and a broken tail, Pfotenhilfe reported on Tuesday.

But the cat was lucky. It was on Saturday evening when a driver on the L508 near Lohnsburg found the seriously injured animal in the middle of the road. The driver stopped to take the cat to safety. But he was apparently so scared that he crawled into a concrete pipe about 13 meters long. A rescue operation followed by the paw help. The tomcat could be taken out of the pipe with the help of telescopic rods. “The poor guy isn’t doing well, but we really hope he makes it,” says Johanna Stadler from Pfotenhilfe.

Apparently the cat had been hit by a car on Saturday. Stadler is annoyed that the driver did not stop after the collision: “The animals often suffer severe pain for hours or days and die in agony if they are not discovered and rescued.”
