The operating result (EBIT) was also deep red at -23.2 million euros, as the company announced on Friday.
Despite a stronger second quarter, business volume was 4.1 percent below the previous year’s figure, and sales fell from EUR 448.1 million to EUR 429.7 million.
“The operating result of the Rosenbauer Group improved in the second quarter in line with the sales development,” said the new Rosenbauer boss Sebastian Wolf, who replaced Dieter Siegel as CEO at the beginning of August. “Without the costs for the industry’s leading trade fair Interschutz, where we once again clearly positioned ourselves as the innovation leader with our electric vehicle line-up, it would have been balanced. But that shouldn’t hide the fact that we have to step up our efficiency efforts,” says Wolf according to the message.
At EUR 581.4 million, incoming orders were significantly higher than in the same period of the previous year (1-6/2021: EUR 488.2 million), the order backlog as of June 30 was EUR 1.334 billion (after EUR 1.092 billion). The workforce increased by around 200 people to 4,204.
In view of the difficult framework conditions – ongoing supply chain problems and price increases for primary products and energy – the Executive Board of the Rosenbauer Group expects sales of around 1 billion euros and a positive EBIT with full order books in the current year.
