The end of a chase with the police: Yesterday, Monday, the Windischgarsten and Spital am Pyhrn fire brigades were alerted to a traffic accident with a person trapped. On the Gleinkerseestraße in the direction of Seebach, a car was thrown from a right-hand bend into the ditch, the vehicle rolled over and remained on the roof in a small moat.
The escape was only ended by the police shooting. The two men who had been in the chase with the police are suspected of having committed two burglaries in the Schladming area (Liezen district, Styria) and each fled in a car from the police via the A9 Pyhrnautobahn to Upper Austria. One of the two men caused a traffic accident and was injured. The other tried to flee on foot. After two shots fired by an officer into loose soil, he allowed himself to be arrested without resistance. The State Criminal Police Office (LKA) Styria has taken over the investigation and the suspects have been questioned since this morning. The LKA is investigating whether those arrested are connected to the burglaries in Schladming or whether they are even suspected of other property crimes.
