Based on four quotations, the finalists of the Upper Austrian Philosophy Olympiad prepared their essays and began their philosophical flights of fancy in the Linz tobacco factory. Several students from all over Upper Austria competed against each other.
In advance, philosopher Thomas Mohrs gave a lecture on why one should do much more philosophizing with children at school. Advice he didn’t have to give to Felix Friedrich (BORG Schärding), Lisa Schauer (Schärding High School), Samuel Wagner (Ried im Innkreis High School) and Estera Calin (BORG Linz). They were chosen as the finalists. You represent Upper Austria at the national competition of the Philosophy Olympiad in mid-April.
Estera Calin secured the victory with her essay on the topic “Digitization and the Crisis of Democracy”.
