The Rohrbach District Authority invited the expellees from the Ukraine living in the district to a breakfast together. There, the refugees received information about residence, job opportunities and funding from a wide variety of service providers.

Aim for good integration

“The Rohrbach District Authority is particularly concerned about the good integration of the displaced people from Ukraine living here in our district,” said District Governor Wilbirg Mitterlehner in the introduction and thanked the more than 50 displaced persons from the Ukraine for their great interest in the invitation. Special thanks also go to the volunteers who take care of the displaced people from the start. The joint breakfast is intended to provide support and networking, to integrate those living here from the war zone in a correspondingly good and meaningful way, but also to enable jobs. Daniela Prokesch then led through the program, Rudolf Kehrer from the BH Rohrbach gave a lecture on the latest foreign law issues relating to legal residence.

Work in the social welfare association

The Rohrbach Social Welfare Association presented many job opportunities. In this context, Peter Proell and Silvia Pfoser provided information about employment opportunities in the six district old people’s and nursing homes of the Rohrbach Social Welfare Association. Attention was also drawn to the currently ongoing training courses, such as the home help course planned for March 2023 in Kleinzell – registrations are still being accepted here. Together with the AMS Rohrbach, initial questions about funding could also be answered.

Of course, it was important that the targeted information was professionally translated for the visitors. So Inna Reiter from Niederkappel spontaneously agreed to interpret the individual pieces of information from the speakers. A successful morning for integration, with a good atmosphere and lively exchanges. Not only many accommodation providers, but also volunteers and organizations – from the Red Cross to regional social service providers – were present and support the people from Ukraine. A lot of things could be clarified in personal discussions or further advice could be arranged.
