Government promotes exchange of electronic devices

This is the plan for the funding campaign that was presented yesterday by Environment Minister Leonore Gewessler (Greens).

The campaign is to take place in three steps: an initial interview for the application for funding in the social counseling centers of Volkshilfe and Caritas, free advice on energy saving in the apartment or house and a subsequent free exchange of electrical appliances. “Up to 100 euros” could be saved annually with a new refrigerator, says Gewessler.

“With the high energy prices, this is valuable support. It saves energy and is good for the climate,” says Upper Austria’s Greens social spokeswoman Ines Vukajlovic.
