On Wednesday, February 15, the well-known ZDF program “Aktenzeichen XY unsolved” reported on the cold-blooded murder of 39-year-old Michael Steiger from Geratskirchen, a small Bavarian town near the Braunau border. As reported in the Innviertler Nachrichten, there are several possible motives for the police. The police headquarters in Lower Bavaria responded to an OÖN query as to whether there had been any relevant information as a result of the television broadcast: “So far, the criminal police in Passau have received a little less than three dozen tips. Less than half of them were followed up, also with regard to a possible Relevance, added.”
