One dead after a shootout in a police station in Upper Styria

The tragic incident, in which one person suffered fatal injuries, is said to have happened just before 8 a.m. A police spokesman confirmed that the man killed was a police officer. Rescue workers are said to have tried to revive the man. Despite attempts at resuscitation, he is said to have died on the spot.

Further details are not known at this time. A large-scale operation is underway, the State Criminal Police Office has taken over the investigation. The crime scene is cordoned off.
