The man had stolen several high-priced perfumes in a shopping center in Steyr on Tuesday at noon. A witness took up the pursuit and guided the police to the 33-year-old, who was eventually arrested. After his interrogation, the Steyrer was allowed to leave the police inspection again – and went on the prowl again.
The police officers who were called to the nearby drugstore were amazed when the previously arrested person turned out to be a suspect again. When he was arrested again, he had several valuable perfume bottles with him.
Two more shoplifters in a drugstore in Steyr and a shop in St. Valentin could also be attributed to the accused. Further investigations are ongoing, the police said on Tuesday evening.
