Murder alarm in Vienna: 22-year-old is said to have killed his mother

According to police spokesman Philipp Haßlinger, the suspect turned to neighbors after the murder and told them that his mother needed help. These notified the emergency services around 9:00 p.m. Police officers found the critically injured woman in the apartment and began resuscitation.

According to their spokesman Daniel Melcher, the professional rescue service in Vienna took over the resuscitation attempts and took the woman to a hospital. Ultimately, however, the resuscitation was unsuccessful, and the 54-year-old succumbed to her serious injuries in the hospital. The 22-year-old was arrested and was due to be questioned on Wednesday. From this, the investigators hoped for information about the motive for the bloody deed. The Vienna State Criminal Police Office took over the investigation. The apartment has been sealed.
