2022 was the first year since the pandemic began without closing days in the catering industry, and the “summer like back then” is reflected in the books. However, it is acknowledged that growth was also fueled by inflation.

The number of active customers has grown by 4,000 to over 75,000, and the number of employees at 1,800 is 200 more than in the previous year, according to a press release on Friday. The 2022 financial year “exceeds our expectations and forecasts”, according to the two Transgourmet managing directors Thomas Panholzer and Manfred Hayböck, they are back to the pre-pandemic level. The turning point came in the summer, when the gastronomy and its customers caught up a lot. The organic and sustainability ranges were strong sales drivers. The sustainability brand Transgourmet Vonatur and the organic range are therefore to be further expanded in 2023.

With the opening of the Transgourmet store in Zell am See, there are currently 14 locations in Austria. With the integration of the wholesaler Riedhart, they set foot on Tyrolean soil for the first time. The opening of the Krems location is planned for autumn 2023. In Klagenfurt, the property of a former AGM wholesale store was taken over, where a Transgourmet pick-up and delivery store is to open in 2024.
