With the 2-0 win against Kapfenberg – the eighth win in a row – the people of Linz laugh for the first time this season from the top of the table. Fally Mayulu had scored the lead after 18 minutes, super joker Ronivaldo – it was already his fifth goal after being substituted on – scored in the finish after a nice combination to make it 2-0.

A prominent guest also saw it: ÖFB team boss Ralf Rangnick paid a visit to the second division duel, he watched the game from the roof terrace of the Hofmann Personal Stadium and did not spare the praise for blue and white. “He noticed that we’re doing a good job,” said sporting director Tino Wawra. The real reason for his visit was, of course, Matthias Seidl. At the end of last year, the 22-year-old blue and white kicker (twelve league goals, four assists) was invited by Austria’s national coach to a prospective course – the native of Salzburg convinced the German right away. Rangnick sees a future national player in Seidl, but also told Kuchler that he should switch to a top local club by summer at the latest.

LASK was also there

Advice that the 22-year-old will follow. Blue and white city rivals LASK conducted concrete negotiations with him, but he chose Sturm Graz. As reported, players and clubs have long agreed, only the contract signature is missing.

Maybe Seidl will also play as an A team player for Blau-Weiss: Rangnick is said to have him on his list as a serious option for a squad call-up for Austria’s international matches in Linz against Azerbaijan (March 24) and Estonia (March 27).
