The Munich team boosted their self-confidence ahead of Wednesday’s round of 16 second leg in the Champions League against Paris Saint-Germain. But the top French club also celebrated a great success – 4: 2 against Nantes with goals from superstars Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe. “We will be prepared,” emphasized Munich midfielder Leon Goretzka, whose team defended a 1-0 lead from the first leg. “I think we’re really eager to put in a top performance,” said Thomas Müller. “Of course, PSG is a completely different caliber than VfB Stuttgart, but the signs are positive.”
Xaver Schlager needs an operation
There is bad news for the Austrian national team: Xaver Schlager sustained an injury to the syndesmosis ligament of his right foot during the 1-2 draw by RB Leipzig in Dortmund and has to be operated on today. The midfielder missed the start of the European Championship qualifiers in Linz.
