This is the second request of this nature that Fossati has made to Gómez, since in November 2022 he asked him to refer the case to a department of Complex Crimes. At that time, the prosecutor accused that she did not have support within the Prosecutor’s Office, nor that her agreement to transfer to the Economic Crimes Prosecutor.
Fossati had accused that the Astesiano case had several political ramifications.
In the audios, the prosecutor had stated that someone within the Prosecutor’s Office, apparently Gómez, “gives clear signals that he wants to nail me with the bad results of an investigation that will not be able to come to an end”, since “the stones are permanent, the information leaks are from all the ministries, the Presidency, the Prosecutor’s Office”.
Likewise, Fossati added that “I am no longer here to immolate myself at this point in life”, and went on to say that “this is a time bomb, and make it clear that no one is interested”, and that “those who are interested, are interested for other purposes, not for justice, they are interested in obtaining political gain. The others are not interested and, then, those who eventually made mistakes, but have to help me, what they do is dirty me from behind”.
