On Monday shortly before noon, an alarm was raised that thick smoke had spread in a hall of the internationally successful bulk material plant manufacturer Knoblinger. The fire brigade advanced with two breathing protection teams and quickly had the fire, which had broken out at an extraction system, under control and extinguished. “The company itself cleared the building quickly and in an exemplary manner. However, the smoke has spread to several halls. We work with several high-performance fans,” says Florian Schmidbauer, who was only elected the new commander of the Rieder fire brigade on Saturday and has now successfully completed his first test. The cause of the fire is still unclear. Apparently nobody was injured, according to Ried’s Mayor Bernhard Zwielehner, who also went to the site.
