On 30 pages, the representatives of the citizens’ initiative “Tobacco factory – we have a say” explain why they object to the entire development plan for the Quadrill as illegal and unconstitutional. They were unable to assert themselves during the construction negotiations and before the state administrative court. So now comes the final step: “We want to stop this scandalous dedication and put a stop to this unspeakable practice and urban planning arbitrariness in Linz,” says spokeswoman Brita Piovesan.
Apart from political criticism, such as the consequences for the local urban climate and traffic, the initiative speaks of “insufficient reports” and a “deliberately circumvented EIA obligation.
