As reported, the arson attack on the prefabricated components for the planned asylum accommodation in Lunzerstraße on Saturday caused only minor material damage. Günther Erhartmaier, President of the Samaritan Association of Upper Austria, who looks after the accommodation, expects a delay of just a few days. The damaged parts could be replaced without any problem. The delay has to do with logistics. Because as a consequence of the attack, the components would no longer all be stored on the construction site, but would be delivered as soon as they were installed. It is still planned to open the accommodation in April.
Video surveillance on the construction site
However, security measures have been increased. Both the police and private companies will patrol more intensively. Video cameras also monitor the construction site. The two-storey wooden frame house will one day serve as accommodation for 48 asylum seekers.
