Police say the motive for the crime was jealousy. At 9 a.m., the Russian took a taxi from Linz to Haid to a workshop where the 42-year-old worked, according to the police. He sought confrontation, pulled out a jackknife and stabbed the man in the back. On top of that, he inflicted a head injury on him – the police suspected by a blow with a knife. The 42-year-old was so badly injured that he had to be taken to the hospital by ambulance. In addition, he could not be questioned by the police in the evening.
The perpetrator and a 45-year-old alleged accomplice were arrested around 11 a.m. by several police patrols in Linz. The 45-year-old is said to have picked up the perpetrator from the crime scene and driven home. He is shown. The perpetrator was taken to the prison. The police have not yet been able to locate the murder weapon.
