Lacalle Pou’s approval rose to 45%

President’s approval Luis Lacalle Pou during February it was 45%, while 34% of the population of Uruguay expressed his dissatisfaction, according to the latest survey published by the consulting firm Equipment.

A few days after the speech of Accountability of the president in front of Parliament —with key points that gave an account of a balance of the management and the path to follow in the last two years of government—, the management of Lacalle Pou had a favorable balance of 11 points in the last survey of Consulting Teamscarried out during the second half of February.

In this sense, 45% of Uruguayans said they approved of the president’s performance, while 20% were neutral about it, and 34% disapproved.

This result, compared to the previous survey carried out by the consultant, in December, shows a significant improvement in perception the management of the president, who went from having an approval rating of 39% to one of 45% —a positive difference of six points—; as well as a decrease in the level of disapproval by four points, going from 38% to the current 34%.

In the last quarter of the year, in the framework of the Astesiano case, the president had registered three consecutive falls, accumulating a loss of 10 approval points (from 49% in October to 39% in December). The result for February is positive for the government, as it reverses the downward trend at the end of last year, although growth does not fully compensate for the loss accumulated in the previous period.

31% of Uruguayans “do not like anything” about the management of Lacalle Pou

According to another survey, this one carried out by Consultants Optionthe corruption in general and the scandal carried out by the former head of presidential security, in particular, are the aspect that citizens have liked the least regarding the government’s management in the last year, concentrating 24% of the responses.

Likewise, 19% considered that the Economic politics they are the main weak point of the Lacalle Pou government, with prices and income being the most important criticisms. Security management, reforms in education and in the social security system, and social policies are other issues with which the respondents expressed disagreement.

Regarding the aspects that have been most liked about multicolor management, there is no consolidated response or dimension that brings together opinions. In this way, among the outstanding aspects are economic management, the perception of transparency in management, policies and social support, educational reform, public works and security improvements.

It should be noted, in turn, that 31% of those surveyed did not highlight any aspect of management as positive.
