Geosphere Austria reported wind peaks of around 111 kilometers per hour on the Jubilee Observatory (as of 9:00 a.m.). The weather service expected the storm to subside later in the day. “In the east, however, this can only be expected in the evening,” said meteorologist Thomas Wostal of the Austria Press Agency.
According to Wostal, it was particularly stormy on Saturday night. The Geosphere issued an orange storm warning for Saturday.
