According to the police, the course of the action was strange on Monday. The 26-year-old had entered the sales area with a CO2 weapon and masked with a balaclava, but was not even noticed by an employee there. A few seconds later, the man pulled away, irritated.
The suspect from the Baden district entered the tobacconist shop around 11:30 a.m. on Saturday. The clerk was busy sorting newspapers and apparently did not see the masked arrival. The 26-year-old then climbed back into the car parked in front of the shop with the engine running and fled. There were no license plates on the car. A witness who saw the incident called law enforcement.
As part of a search, the Lower Austrian was stopped by officers from the Bad Vöslau police station and temporarily arrested. After the investigation is complete, the 26-year-old is reported to the public prosecutor’s office in Wiener Neustadt.
