The new head of department and lawyer Sarah Horwath has been working in the tourism and markets department since September last year, took over the position of deputy head of department in December and has now become the boss and thus the successor to Anke Merkl, who left the magistrate.
But the department changes this week from the municipal finance division to the building management and civil engineering division, which is headed by director Peter Ilchmann. Ilchmann speaks of an “enormous range” in his business area and explains the integration of the market office by saying that the city markets are usually located on city properties and squares.
The responsible city councilor Doris Lang-Mayerhofer (VP) expects the new market team to come up with creative ideas, innovations, events and campaigns that will bring the traditional strengths of the markets back into focus, especially after the Corona years. They want to strengthen the event sector and are still looking for a new employee.
