On the first difficult stage on the third day of the Tour de Taiwan, Jaka Primozic from the Steyr-based Hrinkow Advarics team only narrowly missed winning the day. The section was well known to the Steyr drivers from previous participations, so the course of the race was deliberately designed to be difficult. “Today we showed what we’re made of. We drove a very offensive race, attacked numerously and covered all groups,” says team boss Matej Mugerli.

Two kilometers from the finish, Hrinkow professional Primozic finally put everything on one card, escaped the field and was only caught again 350 meters from the finish line. Victory went to the Belgian Tijl de Decker (Lotto Dstny), Riccardo Verza, Jonas Rapp, Michael Konczer and Primozic finished at the same time. “After this feat, we would have earned a podium,” says Mugerli.

“What a race. The performance was great and showed that we are on the right track. The necessary luck is still missing. But we will do everything we can to achieve the first major international success of the season,” says team manager Dominik Hrinkow.
