STEYR. Invitation to a rare concert event: The Strottern play together with the Jazzwerkstatt Wien in the Museum Arbeitswelt. Start is today, Wednesday, at 7.30 p.m.
Nine highly talented musicians will reinvent the Wienerlied tonight or at least interpret it in their very own way. In cooperation with the “Jazzwerkstatt Wien” the Strotters grow into a big band. New texts (Peter Ahorner, Karl Stirner, Klemens Lendl, Stefan Slupetzky) from Vienna meet young and adventurous jazz musicians.
Both musically and in terms of content, the ever-recurring clichés of the Viennese song are left behind, and poetry and everyday urban life take the place of mockery and lust for wine. There are still tickets left.
The box office at the MAW opens at 6.30 p.m. Admission: 34 euros. www.museumarbeitswelt.at
