Usually the first to arrive at the races, the last to arrive: World Champion Max Verstappen only travels to the Formula 1 Grand Prix on Sunday in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, on Friday. The reason is a gastrointestinal infection.

“Unfortunately, I had to postpone my flight by one day,” said the Dutchman on Thursday. He had not been well in the past few days, but nothing stands in the way of the 25-year-old starting at the weekend.

While a possibly not quite fit Verstappen could mean more excitement for the second race of the year, Ferrari’s series of bankruptcies, bad luck and breakdowns seems to continue across the seasons.

Charles Leclerc is moved back ten places on the starting grid because the Monegasque’s car needs the third control technique. Only two are allowed, which means that the 25-year-old has already exceeded his entire season quota in the second race. Leclerc failed at the start in Bahrain.
