After a strong performance, SK BMD Forward Steyr traveled home with a deserved point from the away game at third-placed SV Horn. The 2:2 was the third draw in a row in the second division. In the fight against relegation, coach Daniel Madlener’s team urgently needs three points in a game.
Horn made the game for long stretches before the break and had the first opportunity in the 5th minute. Forward goalkeeper Niko Polster was there against Hausjell. On the other hand, the Reds and Whites took the lead with the first successful move: After preliminary work by Oliver Filip, Murat Satin completed the goal to make it 0-1 (9th). As a result, the forward defense was good and allowed little. Shortly before the break, however, the people of Waldviertel managed to play the decisive pass, Mulahalilovic converted to make it 1-1 (44th).
For the second half, Madlener then brought on Alberto Prada and Joel Dombaxi for Faris Zubanovic and Nico Wiesinger, who had a yellow card. Vorwarts promptly got off to a lightning start and had a great chance of taking the lead again. Horn goalie Hotop parried well against Filip (46th). Three minutes later, a failed back pass into the run of ex-forward Okan Yilmaz led to Horner taking the lead. The striker overplayed cushions and shot in to make it 2-1.
However, the red and white quickly pulled themselves together and created further chances in an open game. After Bauer fouled Filip, the Madlener team received penalties. Tolga Günes converted confidently to 2: 2 (60th). Shortly thereafter, luck for Forward: Horner Pronichev only hit the crossbar (63rd). Towards the end of the game, the red and white were closer to the winning goal again. They pressed vehemently from the 80th minute and had a number of chances. Satin had the best chance and his shot was parried by Hotop (94′).
It remained at 2:2, forwards are missing two points on a non-relegation zone. The Red and Whites will play the next championship game on March 31st at home against FAC Vienna.
