The planned container village on an ÖBB site on Trauner Zaunermühlstraße near the Linz city limits will be set up starting today, Monday. Mayor Karl-Heinz Koll (VP) informed the approximately 150 participants at a town meeting on Saturday. As reported, the district of the federal government had previously led to many lively debates. On Saturday, too, the discussion was heated at times.

“Factual” information event

But also constructively, as Mayor Koll says. His assessment of the events is positive, no question has remained unanswered. “Despite the many emotions, it was factual, I put all the facts on the table.”

Among the participants were not only immediate residents, but also some representatives of affected companies and people from Linz. A major issue was the feared reduction in value through the container village for land and real estate.

Koll once again confirmed that the city police’s working hours should be extended and that a private security service should be deployed. Another information event is expected to take place in June, according to information from the federal government, the quarter will be occupied from July 1st at the earliest.
