After the surprising news last year that the Hollerbergfest could no longer be held at the usual festival site after 50 years of festival, the organizing Auberg fire brigade was looking for a new location. They have now found an alternative at the listed Unterkagererhof. “We’ve even got a little more space now. There will also be a lot that you already know from the old Hollerbergfest – such as the Labstation at the entrance from the parking lot, the beer humidor with 100 beers from all over the world or the 14 bars and taverns ” promises fire brigade commander Stefan Scheiblhofer.
A festival arena with two large tents will house the main stage, on which Gernot Kulis will perform the cabaret opening on Friday this year. The “Flash”, a three-story disco in the shape of a UFO, is intended to attract younger audiences. But there is also a Ü40 zone with appropriate music.
Respect for monument protection
But they are also particularly proud of the 56-meter-long “Jägermeister-18˚C-Bar” around the historic Troadkasten, where frozen Jägermeister is served – Jägermeister fans have already guessed it: a meter bar for all 56 herbs in the Jägermeister are included. At the same time, the bar has a protective function for the listed substance.
This protection is a big issue in the entire area. Therefore, the historic rooms of the open-air museum will only be open to the public until 10 p.m. “We also have many stewards and our team always has a keen eye, so we are sure that nothing will happen,” says Markus Starlinger from the festival committee.
Funding for the memorial
The fact that the new location can be used is not only thanks to the uncomplicated negotiations with the landowners, but also to the good cooperation with the association Denkmalhof Unterkagerer, which is on board with the preparations. And last but not least, the Unterkagererhof itself will also benefit from the festival: part of the proceeds will be used to maintain the monument courtyard.
Incidentally, thanks to the successful witch markets, the Unterkagererhof is quite used to the crowds.
