The “Kumax” grammar school in Burghausen is one of the oldest grammar schools in Bavaria and will celebrate its 400th anniversary in a few years. The students there regularly support the “Nica-Café” at the Braunau HTL Ball and collect donations from various activities that are used for the partner school in Nicaragua.
The current donation of 5000 euros was handed over to Birgit Falkner, the chairwoman of the ARGE school partnership, during a “Spanish evening” in Burghausen. Schoolchildren from the region regularly work with partners abroad. “Teachers from our Nicaraguan partner school will also come to Austria for further training in the spring.”
In recent years, the ARGE has pushed ahead with many larger projects in Nicaragua and Uganda – from technical improvements to reforestation.
