The lawsuit, filed in a court in Puerto Rico’s capital, San Juan, alleges that Carliz De La Cruz Hernandez included the phrase “Bad Bunny, baby” in 2015.

The singer, whose real name is Benito Martínez Ocasio, then used the recording without permission for his song “Pa Ti” and years later for the song “Dos Mil 16” from the hit album “Un Verano Sin Ti”. For “Dos Mil 16”, representatives of the woman sent a contract for approval of the use of the recording at short notice, but then released the album without waiting for an answer.

The woman, who dated Bad Bunny between 2011 and 2016, says “thousands of people” commented on the voice recording on online platforms or addressed her in public. She is “concerned, scared, intimidated, exhausted and concerned” and is demanding at least $40 million in music rights and damages.
